Background
I earned my master’s degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology in 1990, and come to the innovative field of Life Coaching after practicing as a Marriage & Family Therapist for 15 years. Since 2004, I have been studying the “Undefended Love” approach to relationship and have attended intensives with the creators of this model, Jett Psaris and Marlena Lyons. Currently, I am studying with mentor-coach extraordinaire, Asha Stokes.
I have been involved in the Healing Arts for more than 25 years. I was certified as a Yoga Teacher in 1983 and began teaching yoga and meditation after having become a serious practitioner in 1981 while pregnant with my son. In 1984 I was certified as a Teacher of Transformational Dance, later facilitating “Move Your Mountains” groups for women.
I began to practice vipassana meditation after moving to California from Maine in 1987, and experienced my first 10-day retreat. I have been participating in retreat experiences through Spirit Rock Meditation Center ever since.
I studied with Angeles Arrien for 3 years as a member of an experiential training group in the spiritual practices of Indigenous People: “Walking the Mystical Path with Practical Feet”. In 2003, I completed 180 hours of training at the Motherwave Institute, a resource facilitating transformation through breath work and other healing modalities. I have been investigating the realms of intuition and energy systems with Miriam Moussaioff over the past 4 years.
Ellias Lonsdale has been my beloved guide into the deepest & furthest reaches of my soul over the past 23 years. Eckart Tolle has been a profoundly influential teacher for me since 2001. I am currently a member of the Open Gate Sangha, experiencing the “direct path” teachings of Adyashanti.
Since the birth of my daughter in 1996, I have focused even more intently on the spiritual practice of relationship and daily living. My commitment to my own psycho-spiritual growth remains the cornerstone of my effectiveness as a guide, and my meditation practice helps to provide an invaluable ground for my presence with clients.
